Despite being exposed to the elements and subject to heavy foot traffic, the Charging Bull has undergone several restoration projects over the years to maintain its condition and preserve its integrity. In 1998, the bull was refurbished and repatined to restore its original bronze finish, and in 2019, it underwent a major conservation project to repair damage caused by vandalism and wear and tear.
